Megaraptor : Mysterious Claw



Following the discovery of a 36 cm claw, in Argentina, scientist tried to figure out whose claw was it; a dromaeosaur, spinosaur or a mysterious therizinosaur. Some say it was a giant dromaeosaur, but it is now more known as a carcharodontosaur, a large carnosaur group. Based on the image above Megaraptor's claw was on its forelimbs rather than its foot. These might have been used for fishing or tearing apart a carcass. Megaraptor used its claw as a lethal hunting weapon. Dinosaurs like Amargasaurus, Agustinia or Titanosaurus would have been prey for this clawed killer. During its time, Megaraptor lived alongside different species of abelisaurs like Carnotaurus.
